I won! We got the kids a game for Christmas called "Generosity"circa 1985(ebay). Its pretty cool. Its similar to the game "Life" but teaches kids(and adults) to lay up treasures in heaven. The player with the most $ in their heavenly bank account at the end is the winner.

Anyway I promised Haiti info, so here it is. We were finally able to wire the money to purchase building materials (thank you for your prayers and praise the Lord!). We are planning on going on February 20th and returning home on March 6th. Please pray for safety and guidance as we go. Overall cost for the trip will be about $1100 (+/- $600 for tickets and $500 food /lodging/trans. in country) if you would like to give towards this need. You can send a check to Climbing for Christ 5726 W. Wautoma Beach Rd. Hilton, NY 14468 (mark the note as Paris/Haiti) or you can give online at our website w/paypal(see link on the right sidebar).

Please keep this trip on your prayer list. Thanks. -Todd

Well, We finally made it home after an eventful time away for Christmas. The van ran well (thanks for your prayers). We made it to Owego only one hour late for the Paris brothers Christmas gathering. All four with families present and accounted for(not an easy feat). Also present were Grandparents the Perrys(great to see them and an encouragement for them as well I think).
After that party disbanded we went down to Litlle Meadows to visit Kris's parents, who are staying at our old house while her dad is recovering from leg surgery (less stairs). We let a couple of the kids spend the night there and the rest of us headed for a motel. Melissa started throwing up Christmas eve and the we proceeded to pass around some type of 24 hr bug. We smoked a roast in the oven that hadn't been used in 7+ years (actually it turned out great) and were able to make it to church at our home (and sending) church West Endicott Baptist Church. Pastor Bob (I was glad to see him there, usually they travel for Christmas) had a great Christmas message, followed by three teens going forward to testify to accepting the gift of eternal life (the best Christmas present ever) and expressing a desire to be baptised and join the church. Amen.
We opened gifts and ate, then opened gifts sent from Kris's brother in Texas, then ate.
We ended up staying at the motel a few more nights then planned in order to get everyone well enough to travel, but we are well on our way to getting a free night!
We finally made it home without any excitement on the way (thank you Lord!) and celebrated Christmas again with just our family. We started with Jennifer reading the Story of Jesus birth in Luke chapter 2 then we took turns retelling of when each of us received that awesome gift of salvation. Pray for Gideon and Moriah as they are yet to accept, open, and try-on this incredible present from God. Well, I'm being summoned to play a game, so I need to go. Next post.... Haiti.

Paris Children- Christmas 2005 -Rachel, Jennifer, Melissa, Gideon, Moriah

Well since that very first Christmas I think travel has been a part of the holiday. This year will be no different for our family. We will be traveling to the Binhamton area to visit relatives for a couple days.

Praise the Lord-we got our van fixed finally after a six month wait. I ended up taking it to another garage and he was able to fix it in less than a week. Go figure. Needless to say we will not be taking any of our vehicles to the first garage again. Ever.

On the ministry front--Pray for Climbing for Christ's Mission to Haiti scheduled for mid February. I have been trying to make some contacts for our trip into Lesotho, Africa as well, pray for those. The Board approved a small salary for me starting in July (if we have money). Speaking of "if we have money" Climbing for Christ now accepts online donations using paypal. Check our website (see links to right) then look for "Helping Hands" on the right side of the main page.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support. Have a very Merry Christmas!
