Praise God! Because all blessings come from Him!

God supplied a new hot-water heater before we needed one! A plumber from our church that I called for help (I am not a plumber) said "I just took a propane hot-water heater out of a guys house this week to replace it with a boiler system"."I don't think that it is very old." We got it for cheap! The plumber came over after our Thanksgiving service and we/he installed it. He wouldn't take payment after he was done! Extra piece of PIE for Alan today! Hey God? ----thanks!
Now about that transmission....

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

False summit

Have you ever been climbing and you see the sky up ahead and it looks like you are almost at the summit only to realise that it is a false summit and you still need to drop down and the climb up some more in order to reach the true summit. With a wrong perspective that can be disheartening. That is how our days have been lately. Filled with litlle peaks and deep valleys. We got our van back on friday finally with a new transmission, it last the weekend and went bad again on monday. My lost bag arrived finally with all of its contents intact. The check engine light came on in the van that we had borrowed for Rachels birthday party scavenger hunt at the mall. When we arrived home with a house full of teen girls -we had no hot water because it was all pouring out of our hotwater heater onto the floor of our basement. The summit is in sight but I think that it will be a long difficult climb. With Thanksgiving that we have made it this far.

Thanksgiving PIE

Thanksgiving is next Thursday, less than a week away. Do you ever wonder why they placed it on a Thursday? Me neither. What do you think about when you think of thanksgiving? I think about giving thanks obviously, and about family and food! mmmmm Pie! What is your favorite kind of pie? Mine is pumpkin! I really like pie, that is why I came up with an acronym for remembering to support our ministry that is the letters P I E. So as you are enjoying your holiday pies remember to:

P- pray for Climbing for Christ and the Paris family
I- invest in Climbing for Christ and the Paris family
E-encourage the Paris family and Climbing for Christ

Thanks:

  • Our van is repaired- it took two tries however and cost more than expected
  • I got a phone call last night that my lost baggage will be delivered over the weekend! Keep praying. I don't have it in my possession yet and don't know what condition it will be in.
  • Our family is healthy
  • God continues to provide! Free dining room table recently!
  • Starting full-time for Climbing for Christ in January
  • Our salvation!

Requests:

  • pray for more prayer and financial supporters of Climbing for Christ.
  • pray for my(Todd) testimony and opportunities to be salt and light in the multiple online climbing forums that I post in.
  • pray for a potential new climbing partner (Nyle) as we begin developing a new bouldering(rock climbing) area here in the Adirondacks together.
  • Gideon's salvation

Remember to always be thankful in all things!

It not too late for you to get a piece of that Paris pie! its still warm!

Update from C4C board meeting

What a great weekend! Friday I travelled out to Rochester NY for a staff meeting. Had a great time discussing and praying about plans for 2007. We met with a young woman who has been working in Haiti helping with sanitation (toilets) and reforestation as well as water purification. Saturday was the Board of directors meeting at Gary's house. There were reports given on each of the four pillars of C4C -Evangelic Missions -Partners in Climb--Stewardship-- Family ministry. Staff was dismissed and the Board began to work on the budget for 2007. Praise the Lord! they passed the budget with a unanimous vote! That means that I can start working full-time for C4C in January 2007!!!! It also means that I have to get to work raising more support. Please pray for my support to increase. If you feel led to help in supporting us please see the link on the right side of my page that says "support the Paris family". We had a new member sign on over the weekend--from Peru! this is significant not only because it adds a new country for us but also because we have been praying about going and starting C4C missions in Peru. Please Pray for Gods direction in this area. Continue to pray about my missing bag.

Time for a quick update

I have been working like crazy the past couple of weeks doing tree work and firewood trying to generate enough cash to buy a "new" transmission for our van and pay the bills. Today I head out to Rochester for Climbing for Christ Board meeting to do the missions report. God is doing some amazing things. I was supposed to go to Colorado to climb a 14000 foot peak next weekend but had to buy a transmission instead. My bag is still missing. There have been a few glimpses of hope that is was found, but alas I still don't have it in my possession so keep praying.
