Recovering from vacation

Well, its thursday(I think) and I am finally starting to recover from our vacation to Maine. We had a good time camping on Mt. Desert Island in Acadia National Park in ME. We hiked, biked, climbed, swam(pool and ocean), watched the premier of High school musical 2, ate lobstah and laid in the hammock alot. There was plenty of excitement and a few challenges but overall a decent vacation. On friday Matt Shoemaker (who I met at the Rumney Ruckus) came and we climbed together at the Precipice cliff overlooking the ocean. It was great weather and a great day for dad to relax a little before packing up and heading for home. On the way home the plan was to stay at a hotel for one night. Well the town(and surrounding towns) where we planned to stay was having an airshow so everything was booked. We continued on. We stopped for dinner and the trailer decided to blow a fuse so that I lost my dash lights and all of my taillights, at least that is what the trooper said. He had me turn my hazards on and gave me directions to the next nearest hotel. No vacancy. Eventually we ended up at a Courtyard by Marriott. God is amazing. We ended up getting two rooms next to each other with King sized beds and pull out couchs, AND free breakfast(chef cooked) buffet ($10.95 ea) for $146! We used the pool and hot tub before checking out and finishing the drive home. Thank you Lord that was a great end to the vacation.

Valley- The downfall is that the vaca totally depleted our finances and we have received a small percentage of our normal monthly support. This may be an interesting month.

Rachel leaves tonight for her mission trip with our church to Honduras!

Time for an update

Update in bullet form and random:
  • Due to multiple circumstances (and God's sovereignty) we lost our state med coverage and Rachel and Jenn get their braces removed today. The Lord gives and He takes away

  • Dad took Rachel and 12 or so of her friends to a Krystal Meyers concert (dissappointing) but Eleventyseven rocked the house!

  • Been doing a bunch of rock climbing lately.

  • Preping for South Africa mission trip- low number of team members means that I need to raise $ for airfare. Letter going out today.

  • Kris and I have been asked to lead a small group at our church starting in the fall

  • We leave tomorrow for a week vacation on mt desert island Acadia ME

  • the roof is leaking, sewer is overflowing, and I am at about 5% of my needed monthly support.

  • Swim lessons are over for the summer. Man this summer went fast!

Lets see if I can get a couple of pics to work.
