Thanksgiving meditation---AKA-- What I have been chewing on since thanksgiving day.

I wonder how often we are like the 9 lepers in Luke 17:11-19. Why was it that they didn't thank Jesus for miraculously healing them? Do you think that they weren't grateful? I think it was because they were super stoked to be healed and were motoring to show themselves to the priest and get back to a normal lifestyle. But the one dude who takes the time to stop and say thanks gets an added bonus! He gets a spiritual blessing added to his physical healing.

So many times I pray and ask for things from God. "God please give us safety and a good day of fellowship as we enjoy this bike ride(or climb)" or "God give us safety and help this tree to land safely on the ground and not on these peoples house" or "God grant me traveling mercies" but then upon completion of a good day biking/climbing, doing tree work or travelling, I am so stoked or tired from being blessed that I forget to say thanks for God's answered prayers.

Praying without ceasing includes being thankful!

Hmmmm... that tastes good!
